Hís industrial experience includes time with ASEA (Allmënna Svenska Aktiebolaget, at the moment ABB), CAESA (Control y Aplicaciones S.A.), AEG (Allgemeine Elektrizitäts Gesellschaft, subsequently Electrolux), Sperry Rand UNIVAC (subsequently UNISYS) He has led as the Principal Investigator more than 30 large research and R&D projects and has published extensively in his áreas of expertise, whích include variable speed drives, fuzy logic, neural networks applications, and renewable energíes. Is member of the IEEE Power Electronics Society, IEEE Industry Applications Society, IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, IEEE Circuits and Systems Society, EPE Association, and others mentioned in points below. Has been active as Lecturer at the IEEE PELS Distínguished Lecturer Regional Program, Región 8. Some of them had previously been engineering students attending his courses or PhD students enrolled in his research team.Īmong his Academic and R&D managing responsabilities, developed during several periodes of his career, can be mentioned:įrom 1985 to 1987, was the first Director and reponsible of launching the activities of the Spanish "National Center for Microelectronics"-"Centro Nacionalde Microelectrónica"(CNM).The CNM was launched in 1985įrom 1987 to 1991 was the Dean of the UPC's Faculty of Engíneering (ETSII), the largest of the UPC. He has been advisor or evaluator of the thesis of several actual Full Professors and Associate Professors at different spanish universities. Where currently he is an active Emeritus Professor.Īs first professor in the subjects, starting in the middel of the 60's, he pionered the Spanish higher education in Control Systems first and in Power Electronics subsequently, in the Technical Universities of Madrid and Barcelona.
